How it Ships
Materials
The Pela Case is made of Flaxstic®, which is comprised of compostable bioplastic elastomer and flax straw materials. Our material has been tested to be safe and free of phthalates, BPA, cadmium and lead and is verified to meet child safety standards in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Our base material meets U.S. (ASTM D6400-04) and E.U. (EN 13432) standards for composting in an industrial composting facility and has a lower carbon footprint and lower greenhouse gas emissions than traditional plastic. It can also be left to compost in a home composting environment.

Will help your phone survive a 13,000ft fall
I’m a skydiver and on one of my last jumps of the day, I completely forgot to take my phone out of my pocket before we took off in the plane. I somehow didn’t notice it at all upon exiting the plane, but it slid out of my pocket and plummeted to the ground. Assuming that my phone had been lost for good and that there was no way it could’ve survived the fall, I accepted defeat and went the rest of the night without my phone. Upon coming back home a few hours later, I found police officers and all of my friends surrounding my door in a panic. Turns out someone had found my phone on a road somewhere in the town I was jumping over and was able to call my mother using Siri to let her know that my phone was found *shattered but still usable* with the case missing and no one around. Naturally, my mother called the police department and reported me as a potentially missing person. I would be worried about the case littered somewhere but I can rest easy knowing it’s biodegradable. I’m writing this review from the same phone that made the fall. Great product.
